Columbus, Georgia, nicknamed “Fountain City,” known for its numerous fountains and a local coffee shop called “Fountain City Coffee” (http://fountaincitycoffee.com/) inspired us to name this bar soap “Fountain City.”
“Fountain City” was originally called “Iron Works” made with Fair Trade coffee from another supplier. The owner at Fountain City Coffee approached us during “Market Days On Broadway” (http://www.uptowncolumbusga.com/plaintext/market/market.aspx), a Saturday morning market with local goods, and said that they have Fair Trade Coffee and roast the beans locally. The owner asked if we would make our natural soap with Fountain City Coffee’s Fair Trade coffee to keep it local. We toured where Fountain City Coffee roasts their beans and fell in love with the smells.
